This podcast brings together a dialogue with a former squatter, field recordings (in print workshops and at a squat in the moment of its eviction) and echoes of the digital cloud platform we used during this study.
The study begun with a conversation with Sander Janzweert who runs the Stencilzolder in Amsterdam. The Stencilzolder is a printing workshop equipped with mimeograph machines. It's beginnings date back to the squatters and activists movement of the 1970s (koffiehuis Roodmerk in the Bethanienstraat). It has been located in several places (starting as the Stencilzolder, then becoming the Stencilkelder and now being again the Stencilzolder). A squatters' zine De Grachtenkrant and countless other printed matters were printed on its machines: zines, flyers, posters, booklets, books, beer bottle labels and several Rietveld students works. Next to this, Sander Janzweert was also publishing anarchist, communist, surrealist, dadaist and situationist texts under the moniker Uitgeverij de Dolle Hond, as well as a fanzine with the name de Dooie Mus.
